Frequently asked questions

Q: My devices are protected by an EWS password. Will i be able to use protected devices?

A: Yes. MFP Remote will ask for the EWS Password.

Q: The remote panel times out when opening a device listed as "supported".

A: Make sure that you have enabled SNMP on the device. Also make sure, that the SNMP read and write community names match the values set in MFP Remote!

Q: The remote panel opens, but when i click on any function, a pop up "Enter SNMP Set pw" opens.

A: Make sure that both - SNMP read AND write access are enabled on the Device, and that the SNMP write community name set on the Device matches the one set in MFP Remote.

Q: How and where does MFP Remote store the configuration and passwords?

A: The Files are stored encrypted under the \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MFP Remote\. Passwords and community names are stored encrypted.

Q: How is MFP Remote licensed?

A: The License is bound on the FQHN (Fully Qualified Host Name), eg: wks-045.company.net. If you exchange the PC, the license will work on the new PC, as long as the FQHN on the new PC is the same.
